It's time of year again! Time to purchase your tickets for our annual Wine Tasting Fundraiser. All proceeds benefit the Pleasant Hills Library
This year's event is happening on November 9 from 7-9 PM.
A Taste of Italy - featuring a variety of Italian wines, appetizers from Yoli's, live music played by local musicians who are sisters and students at TJ High School, Gift Basket raffles, 50/50 drawing, and more!
Tickets are $30 now/$40 at the door.

October Programs for Adults:
Fall Wise Walk - Wednesdays @ 9:30 a.m.
Anyone is able to join in the fun for this walking program.
Meet weekly at South Park, and walk at your own pace.
Wear comfortable dress shoes, and bring your own water.
Group meets weekly at the parking lot near the children's playground on Corrigan Drive.

Beginner Figure Drawing - Wednesdays, Oct. 2-16 from 6:30-8 p.m.
Learn to draw the human form with guest instructor Mr. Jim Alan.
This class is for artists over 12 years of age.
$5 per class to the instructor

Ukulele Club with Peggy Krall - Thursdays from 1-3 p.m.
The Ukulele Club meets weekly in the Pleasant Hills Library program room. The group invites all who play or want to learn to play the ukulele to join in the fun!
All skill levels welcome.
B.Y.O.U.S. - Bring Your Own Uke and a Smile!
Any new members in need of instruction, please plan to arrive at 12:45 each week. There will be a brief lesson taught by Peggy Krall, and you are more than welcome to stay and play and join in with the rest of the group.

Join our certified instructor, Melissa Jusko, for this total body workout!
PiYo combines the muscle-sculpting, core-firming benefits of Pilates with the strength and flexibility of flowing yoga movements.
You’ll use your body weight to perform a series of continuous, targeted moves to define every single muscle—big and small.

Murder and Mayhem Mystery Book Club - Monday Oct. 7 from 1-3 p.m.
There are 15 free copies available to keep for those wishing to participate this month, thanks to a very generous donation by the Mary S. Bieseck Public Library in Somerset, Pa.
The Scribes Sanctuary: A Writer's Group - Tuesday, Oct. 8 from 6-7:30 p.m.
The Scribe's Sanctuary is an open group set up to ignite your natural Creative Writing talents in an encouraging and supportive environment. Offer and receive support and encouragement to other writers in all genre and writing levels. Newcomers always welcome!
Meetings are held the second Tuesday of every month in the program room, which is located on the lower level of the library.
Coffee and Coloring - Wednesday, Oct. 9 from 1-2 p.m.
Coloring isn't just for kids!
It's relaxing, stress relieving, and a fun way to spend an hour. Join us in the Adult Reading Area of the library for our adult coloring sessions.
We'll provide the coffee, coloring books, and colored pencils - or feel free to bring your own.

Discover Medicare - Saturday, Oct. 12 from 1o - 11:30 a.m
Join Susanne Snyder from Insurance Services LLC, for an informative Medicare seminar, explaining how it works and how it affects you including:

- Prescription Drug Coverage
- Medicare Extra Help Programs
- Types of Medicare Supplements
The program is open to anyone new to Medicare or interested in learning more about it. The seminars will include a question and answer session.
Book Talk with Cyndi Rojohn - Friday, Oct. 18 @ 10:30 a.m.

The Piggyback Flight Pilot's Journey
The book describes the journey and selfless actions of Glenn H. Rojohn and William Leek as they worked together to keep two conjoined B-17s in the air on the final day of December 1944. Their skill and quick thinking saved countless lives and became an example for young pilots still valued today.

Healthy Minds Luncheon Series - Monday Oct. 21 from 12-1:30 p.m.
Part Two of our three part behavioral health and wellness workshop, facilitated by Will Davies, Behavioral Health Program Supervisor, from the Allegheny Health Network, Jefferson Hospital Counseling Services.
The purpose of this three part workshop is to improve overall wellness through the opportunity for learning, practicing and reflection upon the connections between the body and the mind.
Session 2 Discussion Topic: Healthy Thoughts - build upon our healthy habits by addressing the thoughts that lead to unhealthy emotions, habits, and behaviors. During the interactive session, thought distortions and how to address them to change emotions will be discussed and practiced. The sessions ends with making a personalized action plan to continue wellness improvement through thought recognition.
Session begins at 12 p.m. with a free light lunch provided by the library, or BYO if needed or preferred.
Workshop presentation begins at 12:30 p.m.
Please Register so enough lunch can be provided.
Evening Book Discussion - Monday Oct. 21 at 7 p.m.

Photo Organization Presentation - Tuesday, Oct. 22 from 6-8 p.m.
Lisa Webster, from Grand Scale Video Productions (located in Canonsburg, PA), will be sharing her expertise during this program to help us find peace of mind and a final home for our photo collections!
Are you overwhelmed by all of your photos and videos? Are they saved on your phone, computer, and flash drive? Do you have even more in boxes, vhs tapes, or even the old negatives?
If this sounds like you, and you are looking for a way to organize your entire collection, then you don't want to miss this program!

Do you enjoy Spooky Stories?
If so, then this is a program you won't want to miss!
Storyteller Alan Irvine will be here to present scary and creepy stories just for an adult audience.

Yoga with Tammy Z- Saturday, Oct. 26 @ 11 a.m.
Ms. Tammy Ziccardi will lead you through her very welcoming and positive 60 minute yoga classes.
These classes are set up to introduce you to the common poses practiced in yoga. All levels welcome!
Class meets in the library program room. Cost is $5 per class. Please register at the front desk or over the phone, as space is limited (maximum of 12 students per session). You can prepay at the front desk to guarentee your spot, or pay the day of if space is still available.
