Special Events:

Book Talk with Dr. Aupperle - Friday, January 18 @ 10:30 AM
Join Dr. John Aupperle in the Library's program room for a presentation on Betty Ford by Lisa McCubbin.
Registration not required. 

Meet the Mayor - Thursday, January 24 @ 7PM
Pleasant Hills Mayor, William Trimbath, will return for another meet & greet session in the library program room. Come with your questions and/or compliments and join in an informal discussion about your community.  Light refreshments provided.  Registration not required. 

Paint and Sip Night - Saturday, January 26 @ 7 PM
Come alone or bring a friend as we recreate a beautiful painting following step-by-step instructions from instructor, Melissa Jusko.  The cost is $30 per person which includes all material (except apron to keep you clean). This event is BYOB - bring your favorite wine and the library will provide light refreshments.  
Preregistration required and payments due by Tuesday, January 22.  Sign up in person at the library front desk, call 412-655-2424, or email neeleya@ einetwork.net.

Puzzle Day: January 29 from 11AM – 3PM
Did you know Tuesday, January 29 is National Puzzle Day? To celebrate, we will have a variety of puzzles set out for your enjoyment in the reading area of the library, including jigsaw and crossword puzzles, Sudoku, and Rubiks Cubes. So stop in and try out your solving talents.


*New for 2019* Monthly Adult Programs:

Rise and Shine Library Time: starts Thursday, January 10 @ 9 AM
If you are a patron who is 60 +, the library is open an hour earlier just for you on the second Thursday of each month. Come and enjoy coffee, donuts and all the regular services offered at the library, without the hustle and bustle of the noisy crowd. 

We Are All Neighbors Potluck Program - Starts Thursday, January 10 @ 6 PM

Come and enjoy a potluck dinner at the library! We ask everyone sho attends to bring a dish that relates to a monthly theme, along with the recipe to share. Enjoy a meal in good company, and get some new ideas to try at home.  The library will provide beverages, buns, and plates & cutlery. Plan to bring your dish in a crockpot to keep it warm if necessary.
January's theme - Soup, for National Soup Month. Please Register, and provide your soup selection. 

"Prime" Time - Monday, January 14 from 1-3 PM
Join us each month for a special showing of an  Amazon Prime Original Movie or Documentary. 
January's selection will be Last Flag Flying, starrring Steve Carell, Bryan Cranston, and Laurence Fishburne.

"BYOB" (Bring Your Own Book) Club: Friday, January 25 @ 11 AM
Do you love discussing books you read, but don't have time to keep with monthly book club selections? Join our new Bring Your Own Book discussion group, held the fourth Friday of the month.  Just drip in to share some snacks, enjoy good company, and chat about what you've been reading. No special preparation required!

Grown Up Gaming- Monday, January 28 from 11-1 PM
Join us for a new monthly program, open to ages 18 and older. Come and play some of your favorite board and card games in the library program room. Scrabble, anyone?

Ukulele Club - Thursdays in January from from 1-3
All levels welcome!  Bring your own ukulele and a smile!

Conversation Salon - Friday, January 4 from 1-3 PM
Enjoy good conversation, meet new people, and try to solve some of the world's problems through pleasant discussion.  Newcomers always welcome for this monthly program.  Feel free to bring a friend!

Mystery and Mayhem Book Club - Monday, January 7 @ 1 PM
Everyone Welcome!  This months book selection is The Other Side of Everything by Lauren Doyle Owens

The Scribe's Sanctuary: A Writer's Group - Tuesday, January 8 @ 6:30 PM
Group offers support and encouragement to writers in all genre and writing levels. Newcomers always welcome!

Keep Calm and Color On: An Adult Coloring Club: Wednesday, January 9 @ 2 PM 
Everyone Welcome! Group meets monthly. Coloring books and colored pencils are supplied, but bring your own if you prefer.  Please register as space is limited. 

UnWind: A Knitting and Crocheting Group: Wednesdays, January 9 & 23 @ 7 PM 
Learn basic knitting and crocheting skills or come and work on your current project with likeminded friends. Suggested supply list is available at the Library front desk. Everyone Welcome! 

New Movies at Noon: Friday, January 11 @ Noon 
Join us select Fridays at Noon in the Library program room as we show a newer release DVD.  Bring your own bagged lunch to eat during the movie, and we will provide the popcorn and drinks. The movie selection this month is What They Had (rated R ), with Hilary Swank and Blythe Danner. 

Yoga with Miss Tammy: Saturday’s January 12 & 26 @ 11 AM 
This very welcoming and positive 60 minute class will introduce you to the common poses practiced in yoga. All Levels Welcome!   $5 per class - Registration is necessary due to limited space.  Maximum of 12 students per class. You can GUARANTEE your spot by paying in advance at the Library Front Desk. You can also pay that day as long as space it available. 

Evening Book Discussion Group: Monday, January 28 @ 7 PM 
Join the fun! Group meets monthly, in the library program room. 
This months selection is: Spoonbenders by Daryl Gregory. 
Copies of the monthly book selection are available for check out at the front desk.
