October Events, Programs, and News for Adults!

There is lots going on at the library this fall!

 A Few Special Events and Programs:

 * New Movies at Noon: Select Fridays @ Noon
Bring your own lunch and join us in the program room for a showing of a newer release DVD. Movie will start right at noon.  Popcorn and drinks will be provided.

Oct. 12 (Adrift, PG-13) & Oct. 26 (Ocean's 8, PG-13)
Nov. 9 (Mama Mia: Here We Go Again, PG-13) & Nov. 30 (Destination Wedding, R)
Dec. 14 (Crazy Rich Asians, PG-13) & Dec. 28 (Dog Days, PG)

(Dec. 28th, feel free to bring the kids when they are off school for the holidays).

*Beekeeping with John Crist: Tuesday,  October 23 from 6:30-8p.m. Join us as we welcome guest speaker, John Crist, for an exciting introduction to beekeeping! Come and learn about hives, beekeeping tools, why we need bees, and what it means to be a beekeeper, plus complimentary honey sampling.

                                              This program is free and intended for adults and teens.                                                Honey will be avaiable for purchase after the presentation.

*Maker Mondays - last Monday of the month @ 10:30 a.m
A $5 fee will be collected at the start of each session to cover the cost of supplies.
October 29 - small pumpkin floral centerpiece
November 26 - winter luminary 

*International Cooking Contest - Wednesday, November 7 @ 7 p.m.
Prepare you best cultural specialties that show off your heritage and cooking creativity and enter our International Cooking Contest!
Bring your cooked entry (enough for 12+ people), a creative description of why you chose your dish, and ten copies of the recipe to share with fellow food enthusiasts. 
Registration Required.  Open to all ages and experience levels.
Entries will be judged by each attendee, based on taste, aroma, and personal preference.  
Invite your family and friends to attend and sample free food!

* Annual Wine Tasting Fundaiser - Saturday, November 10 from 7-9:30 PM

"A Night Of Royal Revelry" 
Enjoy Wine, Mead and Cider samplings from KingView Mead (located in Pleasant Hills, Pa), along with appetizers, desserts, live music, Chinese auction and more!
Tickets are $30 each ($40 at the door), available to purchase  in the library or online:
Wine Tasting Tickets via Pay Pal.
All proceeds benefit Pleasant Hills Public Library.  Must be 21+ to attend.  

*Kindness Rocks - Tuesday November 13 @ 4 PM

Celebrate World Kindness Day by painting your very own kindness rock, to take and hide wherever you please!
